Using a GM Torsion Bar Unloading Tool (OTC 7822A recommended), and the bracket supplied in the ReadyLift kit as shown in (Insert C) Compress the key so that you can remove the threaded part of the torsion adjuster. Releasing the tension on the unloading tool will now release the tension on the torsion bar. Slide torsion bar forward allowing the torsion key to be removed. Step 3: Install the ReadyLift â„¢ Forged torsion key and slide torsion bar back into position as in (Insert E) IMPORTANT! Make sure Torsion Bar is extended at least ¼inch through the Torsion Key. Apply pressure with Torsion Bar Unloading Tool to the torsion key, and create enough space to reinsert the torsion key keeper that the adjusting bolt threads into. Insert E Step 4: Reinstall the adjusting bolt, and adjust it so ¼” of bolt threads extend beyond torsion key keeper. IMPORTANT! – Each ¼” of adjustment on the bolt equals 1″ at the wheel. It is best to check ride height after this initial setting and adjust as needed. Step 5: Repeat steps 1 through 3 on the Passenger Side of the vehicle. Follow each step closely making sure to double check the torque on all fasteners. Measure the distance between the tires and fenders to make sure both sides of the truck are even. Step 6: Wheel Alignment; a Certified Alignment Technician that is experienced with lifted vehicles is recommended to perform the alignment. *It is recommended that you have your vehicle’s alignment checked whenever installing new tires. *It is also recommended that you adjust your headlights whenever your vehicle’s ride height is altered.

Place floor jack under the lower control arm’s front cross member and raise vehicle. Place jack stands under frame rails, behind the front wheel wells, then lower the frame onto the stands. Remove the factory skid plate. 2. Remove the factory exhaust cross over pipe. The cross over pipe will have to be modified to allow for clearance after installation of the suspension lift. (See Photo #1). 3. Remove front drive shaft using 15mm socket. (See Photo #2). 4. Remove front tires using 22mm socket. WARNING: Be extremely careful when loading or unloading the torsion bars; there is a tremendous amount of stored energy (load pressure) in the bars. Keep your hands and body clear of the adjuster arm assembly and puller tool in case anything slips or breaks. NOTE: A special PULLER TOOL is required for SAFE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION of the Torsion bars. This special puller can be purchased from your localDodge Dealer or rented from most tool houses. 5. Locate the torsion bar adjuster bolt on the bottom of the rear cross member, measure and record the length of the torsion bar adjusting bolt that is exposed below the nut, and remove the torsion bar adjusting bolt. Apply a small amount of lubricating grease to the puller threads and the puller shaft-to-adjuster arm contact point. Position puller and load adjuster arm until the adjuster nut can be removed from the cross member. With the bar unloaded, the torsion bar can be removed by sliding it toward the rear of the vehicle. (See Photo #3 and 4). Repeat this process on passenger side. 6. With torsion bars removed from rear cross member, remove torsion bar cross member using 18mm socket.

2001 Dodge Cummins 5.9L Turbo Diesel AMSOIL Dual Remote By-Pass Filter System Submitted by AMSOIL Dealer Tom Georgalos Installation @ Lee Myles Transmission & AutoCare, Salinas, CA Components: • BMK-11 AMSOIL By-Pass Filter Kit • BP-241 fitting (included in BMK-11 kit) • EaBP-100 AMSOIL By-Pass Oil Filter • EaO-80 AMSOIL Full Flow Oil Filter • BK-1302 Aluminum Billet Cummins Oil Fill Cap • BP-242 90-degree JIC elbow • Custom fabricated steel bracket I used the BMK-11 system, which now gives this vehicle the flexibility of mounting the by-pass filter under the hood in a very serviceable place. I looked at the install of AMSOIL Dealers Wayne Owen & Russell Day and modified it a bit from their design. My bracket bolts right on top of the stock battery hold down. By angling my bracket, I could use the same bracket for all the EaBP filters without having to custom tailor each one. The owner was changing the oil in this Cummins every 3,000 miles. We are now going to sample oil at 15,000-mile intervals and keep the oil changes to a minimum. This truck is using AMSOIL Synthetic 15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel & Marine Oil. Capacity increased to 14 quarts, up from 12. Execution: • Flush with AMSOIL Engine Flush and drain. • Mount custom bracket right over the top of the stock batteryhold down . Simply undo the bolts and run them through both brackets. • Replace engine oil fill cap with aluminum billet BK-1302 • Utilize 90-degree JIC fitting 1/8″ NPT to male JIC on top of fill cap. •Install BP-241 on top of the stock oil filter adaptor; this will be your feed line for oil going to the BMK-11. There is already a port there. • Mount BMK-11 and pre-fill both by-pass and full-flow filters with oil according to instructions. • Fill with appropriate AMSOIL and check for proper flow and pressure.

1 OWNERS MANUAL FORD F350 SUPER DUTY CHASSIS CABS 1999-NEWER MODELS (Link Part Nos. 8M000043 : Base Suspension 8M000051, 8M000052 & 8M000053 : Axle Kits)… 7 3. DRIVER SIDE ASSEMBLY 1. Review Figure 3-1 & Parts List/Drawing (Section 10) to acquaint yourself with the various parts of the UltraRide suspension. 2. Fasten the Front Hanger to the frame using the (6) 9/16 x 1 1/2 UNF BOLTS, (6) 9/16 UNF NUTS, and (12) 9/16 FLAT WASHERS. (See Table 10-1 for appropriate Torque) . 3. Assemble the Suspension Arm to the axle using (2) 5/8 UNF, 3.50 X 11.00 U-BOLTS, or 5/8 UNF, 4.00 x 11.75 U-BOLTS (depending on axle kit) , (4) 5/8 WASHERS, (4) 5/8 UNF NUTS, and original OE top plate. Make sure the arm/axle locating pin is properly inserted into the mating hole on the axle pad and that the bottom side of the arm rests evenly on the axle pad. (See Table 10-1 for appropriate Torque) . NOTE FOR 4X4 INSTALLATION: Insert the Axle Shim and Air Spring Spacer as shown in Fig. 3-4. Also, remove the OE axle jounce bumper and install the supplied Jounce Bumper Assembly as shown in Fig. 3-5. 4. Insert the Bolt Spacer Tube into the arm bushing and loosely fasten the arm to the front hanger using (1) 3/4 X 7 UNF BOLT, (1) 3/4 UNF NUT, (2) 3/4 WASHERS, and (2) plastic wear washers. 5. Bolt the Air Spring Bracket Assembly to the frame using (4) 9/16 x 1 1/4 UNC FLANGE BOLTS and (4) 9/16 UNC TOP LOCK FLANGE NUTS. One new frame hole will need to be drilled to 0.47″ on each side. See Figures 3-2 (Driver’s Side) & 3-3 (Passenger’s Side) . (See Table 10-1 for appropriate Torque) . 6. Bolt the Air Spring to the Suspension Arm using (1) 3/8 x 3/4 UNC BOLT. Make certain the air spring is not twisted or creased after tightening the bolt. ( NOTE FOR 4X4 INSTALLATION: Make sure Air Spring Spacer Plate is located between Air Spring & Suspension Arm. After a call a Freightliner mechanic, and a recommendation that I have it towed to the nearest dealer (40 plus miles – forget that), he indicated that all I needed was a means to pump in fuel to purge out the lines and pump. He also made me feel better by indicating that he had fielded other calls fromSprinter owners who had air-locked their fuel pumps.

One reason the Sprinter’s 2.7 fuel system is susceptible to airlock is the fuel pump’s high location on the engine. (See the picture to the left.) The location makes for great access and maintenance, but it is bad news when changing the fuel filter or you run out of fuel – gravity takes over and the pump drains. (Because of the low surface tension of diesel, the vacuum of the closed system does not hold long in the presence of air.) The pump also does not have good self-priming capabilities. But this may not be unique to the Mercedes 2.7. At the time of my experience with this problem, there was no readily accessible and affordable maintenancemanual for the Sprinter in the US.1 Here is the benefit of my experience. Before proceeding, it seems advisable that you should be fairly certain as to the source of the air in the system. If the air did not come from running your tank dry2 or from other maintenance on the fuel system, it seems advisable to do further investigation to find the source of the air before proceeding with the following steps. Follow my example at your own risk.Check to see if there is air in the lines. Lucky for us Sprinter owners, the feed line from the fuel filter to the fuel pump and the line from the fuel pump to the next step of the injector process are transparent, accessible and visible. (In the picture feed line is visible under the blue line and the black vacuum hose.) If there is air in the lines, you should be able to see bubbles and/or foam in either line shortly after an attempted start. And those bubbles will be moving up to.
