The first generation LX platform Dodge Magnum (2004) had four engine options; the functionality if the 190 hp 2.7 L LH V6, the SXT had 250 hp (190 kW) 3.5 L V6 and RT had the new 340 hp 5.7 L Hemi V8. SRT-8 has a 425-HP 6.1 L Hemi.
The 2.7 liters (167 cubic centimetres) 60-degree V-6 engine is a design double camshaft with hydraulic lifters and four valves per cylinder. The 3.5-liter (214 cubic centimetres) 60° V-6 engine has a single camshaft with hydraulic lifters and four valves per cylinder. The engine 5.7 L (345 CID) and 6.1 l engine (370 CID) engine with eight cylinders are a light 90° V-type cast iron deep skirt, aluminum heads, single cam, engine valve head with hydraulic tappets.
