4. If your torque converter only has 6 threaded hole locations then you only
need 6 of the 12 holes.
5. With the transmission reinstalled, thread the first torque converter bolt
through the oval shaped hole, Figure 2. This hole will line up the rest of
the torque converter bolts and will make installation easier.

6. Install the remaining 5 or 11 bolts into the torque converter. Once all the
bolts are threaded in, torque them to 35 ft-lbs.
7. Reinstall the access hole cover plate.

Pacbrake PRXB exhaust brakes require a minimum of 100PSI to fully close the butterfly valve, ensure your
pressure switch will maintain pressure above 100PSI.
Before starting the installation, please read the entire installation manual carefully. Check that your
PACBRAKE kit contains all the necessary parts. Pacbrake offers three optional accessories to enhance

The factory has programmed the stock computer with these features in order to minimize the
stress on the factory torque converter. The ATS Co-Pilot module allows the driver to have
manual control over the engagement and disengagement of the torque converter clutch.
The variable control panel on the face of the ATS Co-Pilot Module allows the driver to select
and view the speed at which the torque converter clutch will engage and disengage. When the
round button on the left side of the Co-Pilot face is depressed and the blue light is turned off, the
Co-Pilot is disabled. This will allow the factory PCM (Power Train Control Module) to operate
the vehicle as it is in stock form. The OFF position is indicated by none of the lights being lit on
the face of the box. To activate the unit, depress the round button (ATS Button) on the left side
of the face, one of the blue lights on the face will light up, the light also indicates the level the
Co-Pilot was set on before it was last shut OFF. This will tell the Co-Pilot to watch for vehicle

EXPANSION BEARING
Steps (1, 2, 3) Same as Non-Expansion Bearing.
4. Position expansion bearing in the housing. For normal
expansion conditions, the bearing insert should be posi-
tioned in the center of the housing. To center bearing
insert in housing, move bearing insert to extreme posi-
tion and mark shaft. Then using bearing maximum total
expansion table, move bearing insert in opposite direc-
tion one-half the total expansion to center bearing in the
housing. If maximum expansion is required, move
bearing insert to the extreme position in the housing to
permit full movement in direction of expansion. After
expansion bearing has been positioned in the housing,
tighten the setscrews in the locking collar to the
recommended torque.

FIELD CONVERSION (RE-OP) OF A NON-EXPANSION
BEARING INTO AN EXPANSION BEARING
All non-expansion bearing sizes can be re-oped to become
expansion bearings. To re-op a non-expansion to an
expansion bearing follow these steps:
1. Move the snap ring, opposite from the collar side of
bearing, to the outermost snap ring groove.
2. Install bearing per Expansion Bearing instructions listed
above.
NOTE: Bearing nameplate has a non-expansion Part
Number. When bearing is re-oped the bearing should be
marked as expansion for future reference.

C44031 Pacbrake kit is a PRXB design for 2003 model year and newer Dodge trucks built up to January
4th 2004 with a Cummins 5.9L and manual shift transmission only.
C44037 Pacbrake kit is a PRXB design for Dodge trucks built after January 5th, 2004 and newer with
Cummins 5.9L diesel engines and a manual shift transmission. This kit also fits on Dodge trucks built after
June 27th, 2005 with Cummins 5.9L 610 ft-lbs of torque and automatic transmissions, transmission
controller is not required on trucks built after June 27th, 2005.
